Wingard Home

Today's Clinton News and Hinds Ledger featured my story on the Wingard Home, which I wrote about in a previous post. Great people doing great things. Read my story here.

People like the Wingards are the reason I'm so proud to be an American! My daughter worked in a city soup kitchen this past summer; she wants to do some kind of community outreach work when she graduates from college. Thanks so much for sharing this family's story with us!

I've gone to a lot of non-profits to do stories and I always feel drawn to the ones that do work with kids, but never really felt convicted or moved by the ones that help out the homeless. It just wasn't something that pulled at my heartstrings, so to speak. Until I visited the Wingard Home. It blew me away. The work they are doing and their approach is truly incredible. To see people so immersed in helping others and their ministry, was something I really needed to see.

Amanda, that was a great story and a great photo package to go with it. Good job, girl.

Thanks! I met Melanie Thortis today, who did the pics. She did such a great job! I'm glad it'll be in the NE Ledger too. I hope everybody sees it and wants to help them out.
